Shan grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and went to the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2004 with a B.A. in psychology. He met Jesus in his college years while attending Grace Covenant Church (GCC) in Philadelphia. Shan went on to serve at GCC for 10 years, first as a lay leader and later as a college pastor, after receiving his calling into full-time ministry. In 2012, Shan moved to Boston to serve as an associate pastor at Symphony Church where he also received his Master of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. In 2021, Shan received a call from the Lord to move to NYC and become the lead pastor of Remnant Westside Church, and he is excited to see RWC continue to grow in its love for Jesus and for the city.
Shan, his wife Jenny and two boys Tyler and Dylan live in Queens. In his spare time, Shan enjoys reading, following and lamenting his Philadelphia sports teams, and Disney+.
